Do you enjoy stepping back in time? Do memories of days gone by still float through your visual memory like they were yesterday? If you enjoy reading about bygone eras, then you will enjoy this personal account by author William Hughes. This is not an autobiography or history. But this non-fictional account, written with wit, humor, and from the heart, describes the way it was in the Black community by one who lived during those faded days of the Forties, Fifties and early Sixties in Augusta, Georgia. Covering family, church, school and government, this book holds surprises for some, insights for many, and is sure to be a great read for all.

William Hughes left Augusta in 1964 and went on to numerous lives and careers. He was a Peace Corps teacher in Malaysia for three years during the sixties; a director of human resources in Washington, DC for ten years during the seventies and early eighties, creator and manager of his own management consulting firm for nineteen years during the eighties and nineties, an international management consultant serving in Turkey and Ethiopia and most recently, associate professor of management at the University of Malaysia. He has published eight books since 2000; five on management, one on career development, one collection of short stories and this book, which is a totally revised and re-written version of the original Book, which was released in 2000. He now resides in Sarawak, Malaysia with his wife, a Malaysian citizen and spends most of his time writing books and articles.
